Zion Williamson grabbed the headlines in 2018-19, but ultimately his heavily favored Duke Blue Devils fell short in March Madness, losing to Michigan State in the Elite Eight.
The eventual title game would be a battle between arguably the two best defenses in the country: Texas Tech and Virginia. Neither was among the favorites at the start of the year, particular the Red Raiders, who were close to +10000 (100/1) back in November 2018.
We tracked the national title odds for all the power-conference teams and the top mid majors throughout the year. The graphs below were generated by averaging the odds from a variety of online sportsbooks at regular intervals.
